IT is difficult to believe that someone buys a house overlooking a cricket ground, then complains about games being played there (Echo, Aug 21).

However their main objection would appear to be about the usage of the nets. Didn’t they notice them when they viewed the property?

Yes they have been renewed as their predecessors were a bit scruffy and easily overlooked, but surely these protect the neighbours even better from stray balls etc?

Whilst watching the game on Sunday, I walked down there, watched several under nines bowling and never heard any foul language whatsoever.

Did these people think they were buying a house with a view over a nice big lawn? It’s a sports field, they play cricket on it!

You will get noise on a Sunday, yes there will be children there.

Far better they are there in fresh air learning team games and sportsmanship, than hanging around on High Row.

The club has been playing there since 1866, it’s a bit rich for neighbours to require change just because they didn’t appreciate what happens at a cricket club when they bought the house next door.
