FUN was had by the whole community on Saturday as staff at the Bethany House Christian Nursing home threw a party to celebrate its 25th anniversary.
The home, in Newton Aycliffe, was opened in 1992 by the Woodham Christian Centre charity and has gone from strength to strength.
It currently has about 30 residents as well as sheltered housing.
And residents old and young alike turned out for the community fun day which featured a bouncy castle, Punch and Judy entertainment, music, pony rides and stalls.
Town mayor, Councillor Wendy Hillary, also popped in to show her support.
Manager, Sue Foster, who, along with cleaning manager, Jean Cairns, has been at the home since it opened and praised all the 60 staff and residents.
She said: "Doors were opened in 1992 and during that time we have had many wonderful staff and volunteers."
"Many changes have been made over the years but one thing that never changes is the dedication and kindness of the staff.
Talking about the fun day she added: "Thanks to Mary, Brenda, Alan, Bret, Jay and all the volunteers who made it happen."
