A TEENAGER arrested in connection with two linked firearms incidents has been released without charge with a 40-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman now under police investigation.

A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage recklessly endangering life on Saturday after shots were fired at a car and a house in Billingham earlier this week.

He has since been released with no further police action over the shootings on Tuesday afternoon on Windlestone Road and a second incident on Wednesday morning when a property on Hylton Road was targeted.

A 20-year-old man was also arrested at Saturday lunchtime on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to danger life, however Cleveland Police will take no further action in relation to the offence.

The 20-year-old has since been remanded in custody however, following Cleveland Police discovering a “significant amount” of suspected cocaine, cannabis and amphetamines.

He is due to a appear at Teesside Magistrates’ Court on Monday, August 21, charged with two counts of possession with intent to supply class B drugs and one count of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

A 40-year-old man has also been arrested on suspicion of production of class B drugs and released pending further investigation.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “This morning, Sunday, August 20, a 38-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of attempting to pervert the course of justice and she faces questioning.”
