TWO people have been evicted from their home following allegation of drug dealing and anti-social behaviour.

Cleveland Police removed the man and woman, aged in their 30s, from the property on Woodland Street, Stockton, and they will not be able to return.

Throughout a six month period, police received at least 50 calls from the public regarding incidents at the property, including calls regarding alleged drug dealing, violence, antisocial behaviour and criminal damage.

Information gathered by police describes noise and disruption at the property, a bike thrown through the window, incidents of violence and a constant stream of people attending at all times of the day and night to allegedly buy drugs.

Sergeant James Allen, from Stockton Neighbourhood Policing Team, urged other residents to come forward if they were experiencing similar problems.

He said: “Members of the local community have had their lives blighted by the tenants of this address for some time. Their actions have caused misery for those living around them, so much so that some people have been too frightened to let their children play outside.

“This eviction is a culmination of gathering all of this evidence and presenting it to the court in order to improve the living environment for those whose lives have been affected by these tenants for so long.

"This is an example of what can happen if people make other’s lives a misery and we want this to stand as a warning to those people who think it is acceptable. It isn’t acceptable and we will take action."

Anyone who has issues in their local area with drug dealing or antisocial behaviour is asked to contact police on 101.
