A GROUP of people are believed to have filmed a woman being so violently attacked in the street she remains in hospital with serious injuries.
The incident took place outside a house in Heslop Street, in Close House, near Bishop Auckland, on the evening of Wednesday, August 9.
The woman, believed to be in her 50s, was taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital where she remains in a serious condition.
Police officers are appealing to anyone who may have been nearby at the time or may have been recording the incident on their mobile phone to get in touch with South Durham CID on 101, quoting incident reference number DHM-09082017-0493.
