TEESDALE residents are being encouraged to visit The Teesdale Community Resources Hub (TCR Hub), in Barnard Castle, for a special open day on Saturday, August 19.

The state-of-the-art community centre, in Shaw Bank, will be hosting taster sessions in activities it offers including high ropes, canoeing and kickboxing.

Outdoor BMX riding, dancing and several different arts and crafts activities will also be on offer while session leaders will be on hand to chat about the different activities and how to take part on a regular basis.

The Hub Cafe will also be open, serving a range of lunches, snacks and treats, alongside a bar while musical entertainment will be provided by both musicians from The TCR Music Studio and DJs from the DJ workshop group.

If anyone would like to learn more about the centre, access will be available to the music studio, workshop areas and accommodation, and there will be a range of smaller activities such henna tattoos, games and a raffle, with prizes donated by local businesses.

Entry to the open day is £3 per person and those aged under four go free.

For more information or to book tickets, contact the TCR team on 01833-690150 or check their events page on Facebook by searching for TCR Hub.
