THE wait is almost over for a new bar and restaurant to open its doors on a former hospital site.
The Northallerton Potting Shed, in the old Rutson Hospital, opens to the public on Friday night.
The site boasts a roof terrace, an indoor lawn area as well as an outdoor area filled with brightly-coloured potting sheds.
The Northallerton pub is the third to be owned by Ormsborough Ltd.
Allan Harper, Ormsborough Ltd director, said: “We choose all of our sites very carefully and a landmark building like this was exactly what we wanted.
“It gives us great potential to create something with character which is right at the centre of town.”
The renovation of the Grade II listed building has cost around £1m, which up until 2008 housed the Rutson Hospital.
