A YOUNG riding club is celebrating going from strength to strength as 23 of its members have just qualified for national championships.

The 3 Valleys Riding Club (3VRC) was formed in January 2016 by a group of riders who wanted to focused on the training and improvement of riders, to have fun, enjoy our horses and ponies, and to support and encourage members around the Swaledale, Teesdale and Weardale areas.

The club now has more than 200 members with both a senior section and a junior section and train with instructors at various locations across their area.

And following summer qualifiers for dressage, show jumping, style jumping and riding test, the club has an unprecedented nine teams qualified for the NAF National Championships which will be held at Lincoln Showground next month.

The club we are also hosting fundraisers to support members at the championships and have organised a Show Cross competition and novelty dog for Saturday, August 12, at Richmond Equestrian Centre, from10am.

There will also be a tombola, cake stall and prizes donated by local companies who are supporting the club.
