A SEVEN-man crew aboard a fishing boat with a mechanical failure have been rescued by volunteers from the RNLI.
The 39ft angling vessel encountered problems at around 1.32pm on Monday, August 7, more than 11 miles off the coast of Hartlepool.
A Hartlepool RNLI lifeboat was launched at 1.48pm and was alongside the stricken fishing boat by 2.20pm.
The lifeboat towed the fishing boat for around an hour and a half before arriving in the Hartlepool Marina and mooring the boat.
The RNLI vessel returned to the Ferry Road lifeboat station where it was refuelled and made ready for service by 4.40pm.
