A FILE is being prepared for the coroner following the death of farmer Brian Swales.
It is believed Mr Swales may have been trampled by a bull.
A police spokesman said enquiries are ongoing after Mr Swales was found in a field at at Doddle Hill Farm near Hutton Rudby where he kept cattle.
The 67-year-old married father of three, who lived nearby at Thorn Farm, was surrounded by his cattle.
It is understood one of the bulls has since been slaughtered.
Paramedics and the air ambulance attended but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
