FOOTAGE of young men damaging a car park barrier by straddling it has been released by police.
North Yorkshire Police say in the early hours of Sunday, June 25 , a car park barrier at the Town Hall on St Nicholas Street, Scarborough was jumped on and forced open, causing extensive damage to the barrier itself and the electric motor inside the housing.
Anyone who recognises the people pictured on the video is asked to contact the police.
PC Liam Cromack, of Scarborough Police, said: "This mindless act has resulted in a significant amount of damage to a car park barrier, damage that will have to be repaired out of council funds.
"If you were involved or know who may have been, I would urge you to contact me straight away to assist the investigation."
