A LEADING a capella group is performing in Durham ahead of going to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Semi-Toned, an all male a capella group, last year won BBC TV show The Choir – Best in Britain.
It will be the group’s third visit to Durham.
It’s president Sylvan Rackham, a former head chorister at Durham Cathedral and Durham Johnston School pupil, said: “The group is looking forward to coming back to the North-East.
“We enjoyed our visit to Durham last summer - but we couldn’t tell you then that we had just won Gareth Malone’s BBC2 show.
“The final had been held in London only a few weeks before, but not screened until November, so we came to Durham sworn to secrecy.”
They will be performing at in St Oswald’s Church, Church Street, on Friday, August 11 at 7pm.
