THE successful Orange Pip Market returns to Middlesbrough on Saturday (July 29) and is extending once again.

This time the market will host 44 food stalls and a range of artists, musicians and the return of Car Boot Disco Bingo.

Following last month’s Summer Special on Centre Square the event returns to Baker and Bedford Street – and will stretch out onto Albert Road for the first time.

Cllr Charlie Rooney, Middlesbrough Council’s executive member for City Centre Strategy, said: “Orange Pip Market keeps going from strength to strength and expanding onto Albert Road couldn’t be a clearer sign of its increasing popularity.

“It’s also worth remembering that Orange Pip isn’t just a great day out for thousands of people, it is also contributing massively to the local economy and changing perceptions about Middlesbrough.”

Town centre visitors are advised that due to the extended market the stretch of Albert Road between Borough Road and Grange Road will be closed, with traffic rerouted via Grange Road onto Linthorpe Road.

For those who have never played, Car Boot Disco Bingo is a cross between a game of bingo and a dance lesson with prizes bought at car boot sales handed to the winners.

The free event runs throughout the day.
