POLICE are appealing to campers and customers staying at Tan Hill in Swaledale to contact them after a man was assaulted at a campsite.

North Yorkshire Police were called just after 2am in the early hours of Saturday, July 22 to the campsite at the Tan Hill Inn situated in the Yorkshire Dales near Reeth, after the victim – a man in his 50s – sustained cuts to his hands during a disturbance.

He received hospital treatment for his injuries.

Officers are asking any campers or customers who heard or witnessed the disturbance in the early hours of Saturday morning, or has any other information that could assist the investigation, to contact them.
