BEACH goers were battered with wind and rain as the North-East was hit with unseasonable weather.
Wednesday started with poor weather across the region, with few holidaymakers braving the beach amid blustery storms.
One walker at Blyth in Northumberland had the place to themselves as they struggled with their brolly in the windy and wet weather.
While weather improved through the day, today is forecast for more blustery showers, which will become frequent and occasionally heavy by the afternoon before drying up in the evening.
Heavy showers are also forecast for the weekend.
