A HORSE RIDER was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries after collapsing while riding in North Yorkshire.
The woman in her sixties was taken to hospital in a serious condition this afternoon (July 25) after being taken ill while riding in Bedale.
She was assessed by ambulance crew with the Yorkshire Ambulance Service, who called the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) for assistance at about 12.30pm.
A doctor with the air ambulance and paramedic team assessed her on the scene, before placing her in an induced coma.
She was then flown eight minutes to the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough in a critical condition.
