CLUB colours are being put to one side as Newcastle International Airport announces it has added Middlesbrough Football Club’s Foundation to its list of adopted charity partners.

The partnership will see Middlesbrough Foundation join together with Newcastle United Foundation and Sunderland AFC Foundation of Light for the first time to raise funds.

The MFC Foundation, which was set up by Steve Gibson in 1996 as the charitable arm of Middlesbrough Football Club, works with more than 30,000 people every year.

Nick Jones, chief executive of Newcastle International Airport, said: "We’re delighted to add Middlesbrough FC Foundation to our list of charity partners.

“We have enjoyed great success with both foundations at Newcastle United and Sunderland AFC and have so far raised almost £60,000 for communities across Tyneside and Wearside since launching in 2015."

Ann-Marie Anderson, business development manager at MFC Foundation, said: “We look forward to building on our relationship in order to make Teesside a better place, particularly for those who are the most vulnerable. Together we will give marginalised communities hope for a brighter future.”
