A WORLD record holder taught youngsters spectacular football tricks as part of a day of activities to raise funds for the Bradley Lowery Foundation.
Football freestyler Ash Randall captivated children at Ox Close Primary School in Spennymoor, County Durham, with a performance he regularly gives during half-time at stadiums across the UK.
Mr Randall, who has achieved 18 Guinness World Record titles and has appeared in television programmes and adverts, also passed on a few tricks of his trade during special training sessions in the school’s multi-use games area.
This included jumping up with the ball and catching it, and rolling the ball along the neck and shoulders.
All of the children were dressed in football strips or brightly coloured t-shirts in memory of six-year-old Bradley Lowery, from Blackhall Colliery, who died of neuroblastoma on July 7.
Each child donated a minimum of a £1 and so far more than £270 has been raised.
Daniel Harrison, headteacher at Ox Close Primary School, said: “Bradley Lowery captured the hearts of so many people across the region and beyond so we wanted to do something special in his memory.
“He showed such bravery and he always had that smile on his face, which was inspirational.
“The children are aware of Bradley’s story and last December they asked if we could make Christmas cards in school to send to him, which we did and I took them to his family in Blackhall to make sure they arrived in time.
“Hopefully the money we have raised in school this week will help the foundation help other children battling cancer.”
