A FATHER who became unwell while walking up Roseberry Topping had to be rescued.
The 53-year-old Redcar man fell ill while hiking with his son on Sunday.
Cleveland Mountain Rescue team (CMRT) was training in the area along with teams from Swaledale, Wasdale and Dartmoor rescue teams, and volunteers from all four set off from Newton car park with first aid equipment to locate the man.
He was checked over at the scene by mountain rescue volunteers before being helped back down the hillside to the car park.
A spokesman for CMRT said the incident lasted just over an hour and involved about 12 volunteers.
