AN allotment will play host to a series of arts and crafts workshops this summer.

Jack Drum Arts has organised a host of activities for children, young people and families at its allotment in Roddymoor, near Crook.

Talented artists will demonstrate how to create wind chimes, sculptures and more out of everyday recyclable materials. Jack Drum also hopes to create a greenhouse out of large plastic bottles and anyone who would like to get involved is very welcome.

The workshops, delivered as part of the Colour Your Life programme, take place from 10.30am to 12.30pm on Monday, July 24, and July 31, and Wednesday, July 26, August 2, 9, and 16.

The final session will run from 10.30am to 2.30pm and will include a barbecue. The allotment is located in Elm Gardens in Roddymoor. Children under eight must be accompanied by an adult.
