The William Hedley pub was evacuated
A PUB in Durham has been evacuated due to a "noxious substance", police said.
The William Hedley, on North Road, was cleared on Saturday evening, when crowds from Durham Miners’ Gala were still in the area.
A spokesman for Durham Police said: “We can confirm no injuries or casualties following William Hedley evacuation.
“We are conducting further inquiries into the unknown noxious substance.”
