INCIDENT: The Great North Air Ambulance Service at the scene of the incident in Crook this morning
A WOMAN has been airlifted to hospital after suffering from a serious medical episode.
The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called out to Crook in County Durham at about 9.30am this morning.
The crew arrived to find a female casualty who was suffering from a serious medical episode and had to be placed into an induced coma.
A spokesperson for the GNASS, a registered charity, said: “The woman was suffering from a serious medical condition and was anaesthetised by our doctor-led trauma team.”
The crew then airlifted the woman, who is understood to be from the Crook area, to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
She was described as being in a critical condition upon arrival at the hospital.
