A FOOTBALL club’s new stand has been named after a former player.
Willington AFC will officially open their new terracing at Hall Lane, Willington, County Durham, tomorrow (Saturday, July 8).
The stand will be named after Jackie Foster, a former player who also played for Bishop Auckland FC. Mr Foster's son, Lee, helped with the construction and the footballer's ashes have been placed inside one of the steps.
The two clubs will also play a game, with kickoff at 3pm. Entry is £3 for adults, £1 for concessions and free for children under 16.
