TOWN centre businesses in Bishop Auckland have pledged their support of the mayor’s chosen charity.
The Merry Monk pub, Beverly’s Boutique , News On The Street and Emily’s women’s clothing store have all placed collection boxes for the Great North Air Ambulance Service on their counters.
Town mayor Councillor Adam Zair said: “It costs on average £2,500 for every call out which equates to £4million to run each year.
“I am grateful to the business that have shown such fantastic support of this life saving charity. It just goes to shows that by working together we can achieve such positive things in the town”
If other businesses would like to support the mayor’s charity, they are asked to contact Bishop Auckland Town Council on 01388-609852.
