A PARK was awash with colour on Saturday when more than 350 people took part in the North East Autism Society’s ‘Run the Spectrum’ event.

Darlington’s South Park was filled with young and old as they took on the 5km run to raise money and awareness about the condition.

Runners were challenged to complete a course through the park whilst being doused from head to toe in vibrant colours in a huge Colour Party at the start and then as they passed through colour stations along the route.

Before setting off the participants were entertained with music and enjoyed a fun warm-up session with ten minutes to go before they started their run.

Amongst the runners were brothers Sean and Andrew Harris who were covered in red paint even before they set off on the run.

Registration for the event was £20 with a pledge to raise a minimum sponsorship of £40 to help the charity with its work with children, young people and adults with autism.
