IMAGES have been released of a group of men police are keen to speak to following an unprovoked attack in a pub.

Four men were playing pool in The Bay Horse pub, in Bishop Auckland, when they were approached by about 11 men who attacked them with pool cues and balls.

One of the victims was left needing facial surgery and damage was caused to a window of the pub.

After the attack, which took place at about 6pm on Friday, May 26, the suspects headed off in the direction of the Newgate Shopping Centre.

DC John Forster, from Bishop Auckland CID, said: “This was a really savage attack that was totally unprovoked.

“Extreme violence was used by the suspects, who arrived and left very quickly.

“The victims and the staff were understandably shaken by the incident. We’d encourage anyone who recognises these people or who has any information about the incident to get in touch.”
