TWO people were seriously hurt in a two-car smash in North Yorkshire.
It happened in the Scarborough area on the B1261 Main Street at Seamer at around 3.15pm on Saturday.
A woman in her 60s, driving a light-coloured Kia Picanto, suffered serious injuries and the male driver of a blue Citroen C5, also in his 60s, was taken by air ambulance to Hull Royal Infirmary for treatment to abdominal injuries.
The Citroen was heading south towards Staxton when it collided head-on with the Kia, travelling in the opposite direction.
The road was closed until 9pm to allow the emergency services to operate safely and for the police to carry out a detailed investigation.
Anyone who recalls seeing either car before the incident or the incident itself, are asked to contact police on 101, select option two and ask for Neale Rees or email Neale.Rees@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk
