CHILDREN set to embark on a new chapter of their school career helped overcome fears and anxieties through drama.
Pupils from Bluebell Meadow Primary School, in Trimdon Village, worked with Konflux Theatre to devise and perform a play in a day designed to help conquer their anxieties about transitioning to secondary school in September.
Alexandra Moscop-Brown, Year 6 teacher, said: “It’s been brilliant and always is as we’ve had them in for a few years running. It’s about all the stuff that’s a genuine worry to them and is about getting those fears out and discussing them in an empathetic way - through acting.”
More than 40 pupils, most of which will go to Sedgefield Community College, worked with Gemma Whitham, of Konflux Theatre.
After a discussion and warm-up games the youngsters learnt a script and performed to the school.
