INTREPID employees from a County Durham company are set to undertake a gruelling challenge - carrying with them a dehumidifier.
The team of eight from Ebac, based in Newton Aycliffe, will complete the Three Peaks challenge alongside D’Humfrey, an Ebac dehumidifier weighing 13kg.
Next month they will conquer England’s Scafell Pike, Scotland’s Ben Nevis and Wales’s Snowdon to raise money for three chosen charities; Just a Drop, The Olivia Mae Foundation and Cancer Research UK.
Chosen by staff, The Olivia Mae Foundation is particularly close to the heart of Ebac employees, it supports families during difficult periods when a child is ill and was founded by Pamela Petty, past Ebac managing director.
Former Royal Marine Haydn Rees said: “This challenge will be a demanding experience for the team especially with the added weight of the dehumidifier but, so far, one that that has also been a lot of fun.
“Each of the three chosen charities supports people in seemingly impossible situations in their lives and so our trek with D’Humfrey the dehumidifier is designed to illustrate the impossible being made possible.”
