TWO pet dogs have been killed after the caravan they were in caught fire.

Two fire crews from Stanhope and Crook attended the blaze at the Frosterley Inn caravan park, in Frosterley, Weardale, yesterday where one static caravan was well alight.

A spokesperson for County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service said the static caravan was severely damaged.

They added: “We received the call just before 2pm and two appliances attended and used a jet and a ground monitor.

“The caravan was severely damaged and sadly two deceased dogs were found inside.”
