The 5km route around St Leonard’s playing fields, near County Hall, includes family friendly obstacles and showers of coloured paint being thrown over runners.

Laura Barker, from St Cuthbert’s Hospice said: “We’ve had over 1,000 people sign up to take part in this year’s Colourama so far and are expecting lots of people to come along and register on the day. We are hoping that over £25,000 will be raised in sponsorship monies which would help to pay for around two weeks of care provided at the hospice.”

“These funds are vital to help us continue to provide outstanding care free of charge.”

On the day registration is open between 11.30am and 2pm. Entry is £22 for adults, £17 for children under the age of 15 and is free for under fives.
