FANS of fictional Yorkshire detective Alan Banks can celebrate 30 years of murder and intrigue at a special event at Darlington Library next month.
Peter Robinson, the best-selling author of the DCI Banks novels, will be at Crown Street Library to talk about his work and his latest book “Sleeping in the Ground”.
The Yorkshire-born author emigrated to Canada after studying English in Leeds, and studied creative writing before taking a PhD in English. His first novel in 1987 introduced DCI Banks, who has now features in more than 25 novels and stories, and is played by actor Stephen Tomkinson in the TV series. He lives in Toronto and Richmond.
‘An afternoon with Peter Robinson’ will be at Darlington’s Crown Street Library on Tuesday July 18 at 3pm, cost £5. Call 01325 462034.
