A MAN has been charged after a police officer was hit by a car and injured at a supermarket in Middlesbrough.
The incident happened Friday, June 2 at around 1.30pm, when a blue Ford Focus collided with the officer in Tesco car park in Coulby Newham whilst carrying out his duties.
The officer received treatment for his injuries at the scene, but was not seriously injured.
A 24-year-old man has been charged with driving whilst disqualified, possession of a controlled drug, attempt to cause grievous bodily harm and other driving offences.
The man will appear at Teesside Magistrates Court today.
