TICKETS are said to be selling well for an increasingly popular two-day North-East summer music festival.

Some of the UK’s most popular and successful music artists of the 1980s and 90s feature on the bill at Sunderland’s third Sunniside Live.

DJs Allister Whitehead and K Klass start the party with a collection of house music hits, on Friday July 7, at 4pm.

They are followed by Heather Small, the renowned voice of M People, and the funky acid jazz vibe of Incognito.

Winners of a Battle of the Bands contest begin the line-up on Saturday July 8, at 12-noon, followed by Manchester music legends The Happy Mondays, backed up by Lord Swans, Social Room, Chris Helme and The Farm.

There is a 4,000 capacity both days with tickets, costing between £17.50 and £35 for a weekend pass available via www.sunnisidelive.co.uk.
