BANK holiday traffic was brought to a standstill following separate accidents on the A66 this (Sunday) afternoon.
Around lunchtime there was an incident on the A66 westbound between the A1 and the A67 near Bowes.
It is understood that a caravan jack-knifed near the Hutton Magna junction and blocked the road.
Later in the day, at around 2.20pm, a further accident caused delays on the A66 westbound between Middleton Tyas Lane, Scotch Corner, and the A67.
