AN annual golf tournament has raised around £8,500 which will go towards building a therapy centre for disabled children.

The tournament at Ramside Hall was held by County Durham charity Heel and Toe, which provides support for children with physical disabilities.

The charity is trying to raise £280,000 to renovate a derelict building in Perkinsville, near Chester-le-Street, to turn it into a specialist therapy centre with hydrotherapy pool and trampoline.

Chairman Paul Gilsenan said: “We would like to thank everyone who took part in supporting us during the golf tournament, especially our sponsors Bradley Hall.

“The Footprints Building appeal is very important to us as we want to provide vital facilities which will make a positive impact on the lives of children with complex physical disabilities and their families.”

Businesses from across the region attended the eighth annual tournament in aid of the charity.

Peter Bartley, Bradley Hall senior director and charity trustee, said: “I truly am proud to be involved with this charity and am glad that Bradley Hall and I have the opportunity to support such an important organisation.

“The golf tournament was a successful day for the charity, raising thousands for its Footprints Building Appeal, while also being a fantastic day for all taking part.”
