A TOURISM network will join forces with the next generation of filmmakers to create a series of short videos to promote Weardale.
Weardale Visitors Network plans to share the films on its website, discoverweardale.com, and on social media to publicise the dale’s attractions to a wider audience.
It has teamed up with New College Durham, with filming due to begin in September. The films will focus on key attractions; shopping, eating and drinking hotspots; walking and cycling opportunities; and popular events.
Rupert Richardson, of Weardale Visitor Network, said: “We want to get the message out there to as many people as possible. We are looking forward to working with the students and finding out their ideas.”
Veronica Spowart, a curriculum manager at New College, said: “Students working with live clients generally go above and beyond expectations to produce their best work with the skills and knowledge they have learned and in doing so stretch themselves and ‘learn by doing.’”
Weardale Visitors Network is a partnership of businesses with a shared passion for developing tourism trade.
