LIBRARY visitors were greeted with a dead body and the opportunity to solve a murder recently.
The 50th anniversary of Middlesbrough’s Acklam Library was marked with a day full of activities, concluding with a murder mystery.
The Wenlock Mummy, performed by the North Ormesby Minstrels, ended a celebration that saw library users flock to the popular community hub.
Children donned fancy dress to enjoy their own party, with youngster Grace Bullock from Newham Bridge Primary School getting to meet Middlesbrough’s mayor, Dave Budd.
The mayor joined in celebrations and presented a prize to Grace, who won a competition to design a bookmark for the library’s milestone anniversary.
Community hub coordinator Joanne Brown said: “There was a day full of events and something for all ages.
“Great fun was had by all.”
