A DUTCH student is offering free IT help to assist members of a new community library.

Laura Van der Heuvel is visiting the Bedale area for ten weeks whilst studying to become an English teacher and is hoping to develop her skills and share her expertise in IT while volunteering at the town’s library.

She’s been welcomed with open arms by coordinators who took over running the library on April 1 and say they’re delighted to have an IT whizz as part of the team.

Ms Van der Heuvel, 22, is in her second year at a university in Utrecht and is in Bedale to improve her English fluency.

“Before I started my studies to become a teacher, I studied computer science. I know my way around computers, so if anyone has any questions about anything, I’ll be happy to help,” she said.

IT appointments with her can be booked through the library on 01609- 534573 or at the desk during opening hours.
