MORE boys are needed to tread the boards in preparation for a West End show.
Youngsters from across the Tees Valley will perform in a production of Lazy Ace at Shaftsbury Avenue Theatre in November.
Darlington’s Pauline Quirk Academy (PQA) is now appealing for more “talented lads” to take to the stage as rehearsals begin in earnest.
Principal Laura Lonsdale says the academy’s Darlington branch is in desperate need for more boys to sign up ahead of the West End show.
She said: “Although the academy has many wonderfully talented girls in abundance, I have just two older boys and I need more.
“Having more boys would help us to make the show more realistic."
The academy hosts free taster sessions regularly but has organised a special West End themed open day on Sunday, May 14 in the hope of finding additional performers.
The event will be held at the Education Village in Darlington.
