A NORTH-East football club is supporting Mental Health Awareness week by hosting a Dementia Friends meeting to provide people with more information about the condition.
Earlier in the year, Hartlepool United became dementia friendly with several staff members provided with the information to ensure better care can be given to those living with the illness.
Michael Evans – who plays mascot H’Angus the Monkey – underwent training to become a Dementia Champion and he will deliver the session at The Northern Gas and Power Stadium at 6pm on Tuesday, May 16.
The session is free, and those who attend will learn more about dementia.
Anyone interested in attending the event should send an email entitled ‘Dementia Friends’ to media@hartlepoolunited.co.uk
