A SUPPORTER had to be treated by medical staff after being injured in the stands during Middlesbrough's match against Manchester City at the Riverside Stadium.
Witnesses reported that a fan had been hurt during the 2-2 draw on Sunday.
The incident happened shortly after Middlesbrough's second goal, which was scored by Calum Chambers in the 77th minute.
The supporter was attended to by several St John Ambulance paramedics at the stadium after being transported to pitchside for treatment.
The match continued as the fan was assessed pitch-side in front of the North Stand.
A witness at the game said: “I didn’t see the incident, but shortly afterwards there were half a dozen or more paramedics who gathered around the front of the stand, close to the goal.
“It was clear that someone was laying on the ground and they were administering some sort of first aid.
“There was lots of concern among the fans who gathered around the person on the ground.”
