A 66-year-old man has died after a car crash near a large housing estate.
Police are appealing for witnesses after a collision on Blue House Lane, Washington on Saturday.
The collision happened on Blue House Lane near to the Parsons Road junction, Usworth, Washington at around 5.36am and involved a yellow coloured Seat Ibiza motor vehicle.
The driver of the car was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.
