A TEENAGER has received a national award in recognition of his efforts to tackle bullying and support Teesdale Lions Club.
Lewis Baillie, 16, received the Shipshape Trophy at the final of the Lions Club International’s Young Ambassador of the 21st Century Competition.
The Staindrop School pupil also won a week at sea with the Jubilee Sailing Trust.
Teesdale Lions Club nominated Lewis for the award as he has played a key role in their activities since his mother, Sue, joined the club last year. As well as marshalling and collecting at events, he has been at the forefront of an anti-bullying campaign.
He is now fundraising for the Durham Agency Against Crime Police Cadets’ Days Out Project. At 7.30pm tomorrow night (Saturday) he will host a family quiz and race night at Barnard Castle Cricket Club. Entry is £5 on the door, including pie and peas. To reserve a place, contact 07769725068.
