A TALENTED young filmmaker enjoyed her first taste of the high life when the pink carpet was rolled out for the premiere of her first film.

Beth Ward enjoyed movie star treatment when Vue Darlington showed the first screening of her “Beth in Mexico” film trailer to an audience filled with friends and family.

The ten-year-old, from Ingleby Barwick, was given the A-List treatment for the special occasion, including arriving at the venue in a luxurious limousine, before presenting her film debut to her closest loved-ones ahead of a showing of the latest children’s blockbuster, The Boss Baby.

She got her movie career rolling after holiday firm First Choice responded to her post-holiday letter urging the company to watch her homemade movie on YouTube.

“I still can’t believe that First Choice replied to my letter and helped turn my holiday video into an awesome movie,” she said. “Seeing it on the big screen made me feel like a proper film director – my mam even cried. I’m looking forward to everyone else being able to see me and my family’s holiday experience at Vue across the country.”

Earlier this month, musician and TV judge, Martin Kemp, stepped in to deliver a movie-making masterclass for Beth and made the journey to her school to showcase the final cut during a surprise assembly.

To get the attention of the travel firm, she wrote: “I really want to be a film maker. So my mam helped me make a small movie on my laptop to share with everyone […] I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed making it.”

The youngster received a direct response from Nick Longman, Managing Director of First Choice’s parent company, praising her efforts and arranged for the film to be produced.

Following the premiere at Vue Darlington, “Beth in Mexico” will be shown at Vue nationwide this spring.
