WITH less than a week to go until the return of Darlington’s biggest sponsored dog walk, the region’s caring canines are being urged to sign up to put their best paw forward for St Teresa’s Hospice.

Bark in the Park is set to return on Sunday and organisers expect a repeat of last year’s success, when more than 300 dogs took part in the sponsored stroll.

The walk follows a gentle one mile route and features a ‘have a go’ dog agility course. A wheelchair friendly option is also available.

Jane Bradshaw, hospice director, said: “Bark in the Park is a chance for dogs of all shapes and sizes – and their well-behaved owners – to come together at Darlington’s South Park and raise money to support the vital care and support offered by St Teresa’s Hospice. I’ll be there with Barney my Bedlington terrier – he can’t wait.”

Food and refreshments will be available, with plenty of doggy delights on offer, a doggy deli, a ‘best dressed dog’ competition, and chances to win some amazing prizes.

Entry is £5 per dog and all pooches that register by noon on Friday 21 will receive a rosette and a goody bag for taking part.
