A HAIRDRESSERS will come alive with the sound of music next weekend.

Usually content to be offered a cut and blow-dry, visitors to the Be Premiere hair salon will instead be treated to a new style of musical theatre on Saturday, April 22.

In Good Hands, the next show hosted by theatrical festival Jabberwocky Market, will see performers take over the salon with quirky songs and stories at 6pm and 8pm.

The musical features “fun and quirky stories and songs” inspired by the world of hairdressing.

Jabberwocky Market organiser Caroline Pearce said: “Our shows are known for popping up in sometimes surprising places.

“We are giddy to finally welcome a full-scale theatre show into the salon, all about being in a hair salon.

“We searched far and wide for the perfect salon show for our community of hair gods and goddesses.

“This is the one we have been waiting for and we are dying to share it with the audiences of Darlington.”

A small audience of just 30 people will be invited to make an appointment to enjoy the intimate show, with each person getting to experience a virtual haircut and the full salon experience.
