FIRE crews, medics and police officers are invited to put their dancing shoes on for a good cause.
This year, Darlington’s Mass Dance will pay tribute to emergency services personnel while raising money towards the purchase of an MRI scanner at Darlington Memorial Hospital.
With weekly rehearsals set to get underway later this month, organisers from the Darlington Dance Festival Association are appealing for more frontline workers to join them.
Over 700 people took part in the dance in 2016, with this year’s event expected to attract even more.
Darrien Wright, of Dance Wright Studio, urged the community to get behind the mass dance, taking place in Darlington’s market square.
He said: “This is a unique event and we want everyone to join us – firemen, police, health service workers and front line services. Come and have a go.”
Rehearsals will take place every Wednesday from noon and every Thursday from 7.45pm at the Dance Wright Studio on Risdale Street.
