A COUNCIL-RUN leisure centre has had to be closed while it attempts to rectify the temperature of the showers.

Stokesley Leisure Centre on Great Broughton Road in Stokesley announced on Thursday morning that it will shut until Saturday to carry out essential maintenance to the heating system, which is causing problems with its showers.

The leisure centre has released a notice, stating: “We would like to thank you for your patience whilst we have been attempting to rectify the temperature and pressure intermittency of the showers at the centre.

“Due to circumstances beyond our control following essential maintenance to the heating system this morning (30 March) the centre has had to close and will now remain closed until Saturday (1 April).

“We are really sorry for any inconvenience caused by this issue.”
