AN accident involving several vehicles on the A19 southbound caused delays for rush hour motorists on Thursday morning.
The collision happened near Dalton Park at the A182 / B1285 exit and congestion was reported to the A690 Durham Road / B1286 City Way (Herrington Interchange).
The road was partially blocked while the recovery of vehicles took place, but Highways England have confirmed that all lanes have now been reopened.
